|||Fort Henry|||

Last Weekend i went to fort Henry, Kingston for Halloween.( Fort fright! ) I thought i should show you some picture of this nice place. It was originaly built during the War of 1812 on Point Henry, beside Lake Ontario, to guard the outlet to the St Lawrence River and the Kingston Navy Yards. Now, they say that the fort is hunted and you can go for a ghost hunt. :)

===November 11th===

///Remembrance Day\\\

Also known as Poppy Day, Armistice day (the event it commemorates) or Veterans day – is a day to commemorate the sacrifices of members of the military and of civilians in times of war, specifically since the First World War.

The Canadian, the British And south African have the tradition to take 2 minutes of silence the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh Month. So The November 11th At 11h00. during This time you can do a prayer for the dead soldier of the world war 1 !

The Poppy

The poppy's significance to Remembrance Day is a result of Canadian military physician John McCrae's poem In Flanders Fields. The poppy emblem was chosen because of the poppies that bloomed across some of the worst battlefields of Flanders in World War I, their red colour an appropriate symbol for the bloodshed of trench warfare.

In Canada we are wearing the Poppy two weeks before november 11th. Until 1996, the Poppy's was made by disabled veterans, but now they are made by a private contrator.
